Mr. Mandel works with schools providing representation and counseling in areas including school laws and regulations, labor and employment, contracts, special education and civil rights. Mr. Mandel serves as lead negotiator for school boards in their negotiations with local labor units and frequently handles grievance arbitrations. Mr. Mandel regularly represents Boards of Education during board meetings and hearings regarding matters including residency disputes and Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying.

Mr. Mandel also has significant litigation experience representing public entities and their officers, elected officials and other members of management before the United States District Court, the Superior and Appellate Courts of New Jersey, the Commissioner of Education and the Office of Administrative Law. Mr. Mandel defends suits alleging employment discrimination, harassment, whistle-blower retaliation and other alleged Civil Rights violations. Prior to joining The Busch Law Group, Mr. Mandel worked for a regional law firm where his practice similarly focused on serving public entity clients, including extensive defense of alleged Constitutional violations of false arrest, excessive force and malicious prosecution.

Mr. Mandel has been recognized as a Rising Star by New Jersey Super Lawyers® for 2021, 2022 and 2023. Mr. Mandel has previously served as a Treasurer of the New Brunswick Bar Association, a Commissioner and Secretary of the Metuchen Parking Authority, as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Metuchen Downtown Alliance and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Federation of Dog Clubs. Before entering private practice, Mr. Mandel completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Judges Frederic Kessler, P.J.Ch., and Katherine Dupuis, P.J.Ch., in the Chancery Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Union County.
