Background

Background

Over the past two decades, Ms. Weinstein has focused her litigation practice in the areas of special education, school board ethics, student residency, civil rights (discrimination, retaliation, whistleblowing), First Amendment, defamation, and tort claims. She provides services directly to school districts on an ongoing basis and also serves as assigned panel counsel for specific matters through the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group. In addition, Ms. Weinstein closely monitors the ever-changing NJDOE regulatory scheme and counsels educators regarding compliance and litigation prevention.

A highly effective litigator, both in writing and on her feet, Ms. Weinstein has earned a stellar reputation for achieving dismissals of high-profile claims via dispositive motion practice, and her victories have been consistently upheld by State and Federal appellate courts. In addition, she has been commended by several judges for her creative problem-solving skills during contentious settlement negotiations.
