Background

Background

Kimberly S. Wainwright is an attorney practicing public education law, with a particular focus on special education. Drawing on a rich background in both teaching and legal practice, she brings a distinctive perspective to advocating for the rights of students, educators, and educational institutions.

Ms. Wainwright earned her Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in 2014 and her Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School–Newark in 2020. Before pursuing a career in law, Ms. Wainwright was on track to become a certified K-6 teacher, earning a Certificate of Eligibility. She taught first and second grade in a local school district, an experience that fueled her passion for education and reinforced a deep commitment to supporting students’ success.

After law school, Ms. Wainwright served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge Robert W. Bingham in the New Jersey Superior Court, Criminal Division. She then joined the Law Department of one of New Jersey’s largest municipal governments, where she worked for nearly three years as a Contracts and Legislation Attorney. There, she gained valuable experience in municipal law and the legislative process.

Now with the Busch Law Group, Ms. Wainwright is excited to return to her educational roots, combining her teaching background with legal expertise to navigate the complex landscape of education law. Coming from a long line of educators, she feels deeply connected to the field and is dedicated to making a positive and meaningful impact on the education community.
